ciie - The 2nd CIIE to Be Bigger and Better in Scale and Products

The 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be bigger and better in scale and products than the first one last year. Enterprises from all over the world have shown great interest in the exhibition.

According to the event’s organizers, more than half of the exhibition areas have been booked, confirming that the number of exhibiting companies exceeds half of the planned number.

According to the statistics of the CIIE Bureau, as of March 15, 812 companies from 72 countries and regions have signed the participation agreement. They have booked a total of 180,000 square meters of exhibition space, accounting for more than half of the planned commercial exhibition area. Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan said earlier that some of the exhibition areas such as medical healthcare have been fully booked.

Jean-Philippe Poulin, president of Lesaffre Greater China, said, “The CIIE is a very good corporate display platform. It not only allows us to showcase our latest products and services, but also gives us the opportunity to learn from our peers.”

Lesaffre said that the company plans to double its exhibition area compared to last year to host the Coupe Louis Lesaffre Asia final competition.

In addition to the companies from France, Italian companies also showed interest in participating in the second CIIE.

Italian companies believe that CIIE is a good platform to understand the market. According to the CIIE Bureau, during the first CIIE last year, 130 buyers signed contracts with participating Italian companies, of which 141 were buyers.

According to Zhong, compared with the first event held in Shanghai from November 5th to 10th, the scale of the second CIIE will be even larger, attracting more exhibitors.

According to the 300-day countdown of the show released by the CIIE Bureau on January 9, the business exhibition area of this event will be divided into 7 categories and an outdoor exhibition area to accommodate more exhibitors. The total area of this part will be larger than the first.

The second CIIE will also expand the fields of consumer electronics, smart home appliances and consumer goods, and will occupy three exhibition halls of the  National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).
